  • International Beer day

According to Checkers it is international beer day the 7th of August. They do have some good specials on some craft beers till the 10th. Best one is probably R89 for a four pack of King's Blockhouse

    Check it out: https://specials.checkers.co.za/deal...aug10aug/index
    Primary: APA
Bottled: Quad, tripel, K@K red ale
Keg 1: Weiss. 2: Weiss. Keg 3: Air. Keg 4: Air
    Next up: world domination

King's Blockhouse might be one of the better ones out there, but that price still doesn't impress me.

I would more than likely be able to brew double their volume @ R89 and then also more than likely enjoy it more than I would theirs

I'm definitely visiting checkers or liquor city as my beers are still bottle conditioning... Bad planning!

Anyway Is there a blockhouse clone recipe out there somewhere that anyone knows of?

              That's cool.
Gave it a google and found this out:
International Beer Day (IBD) is a celebration on the first Friday of every August founded in 2007 in Santa Cruz, California by Jesse Avshalomov.[1][2][3][4] Since its inception, International Beer Day has grown from a small localized event in the western United States into a worldwide celebration spanning 207 cities, 80 countries and 6 continents.[5] Specifically, International Beer Day has three declared purposes:
              1. To gather with friends and enjoy the taste of beer.
              2. To celebrate those responsible for brewing and serving beer.
              3. To unite the world under the banner of beer, by celebrating the beers of all nations together on a single day.

Pretty cool stuff, thanks for letting us know JIG!
