  • CO2 refill

It seems my kegerator had a gas leak, I'm thinking it leaked out a tap when the keg kicked. Unfortunately I'm leaving the country for 3 weeks tomorrow morning so my newly kegged Vienna Lager would have to sit like that until I'm back. Where would be the best for me to go for a refill when I'm back? I'm in Centurion, PTA.

Thebeerkeg is just a little too far away and it's going to cost R80 for a 2kg refill (I think I have a 2kg) ideally would prefer something closer.
    Primary: APA
Bottled: Quad, tripel, K@K red ale
Keg 1: Weiss. 2: Weiss. Keg 3: Air. Keg 4: Air

Just going to give this a bit of a bump.

On a normal day it is impossible to get to Bevan before 6PM, I need something closer to Centrurion CBD that won't charge me R380 for a 2kg refill (yes I was charged that by a paintball shop)

      Has anyone used these guys?

Google fire extinguisher refill and see what you get in your area. A lot of places do refills, but they take it off-site, so not an immediate solution.

Try to find other companies that use CO2 and ask where they get their refills.

Or, ask a local brewery if you can piggyback on their refills.

I called Midrand Fire Services, they have no gas available. Tried East Rand Fire services: they will do at R135 for 5kg, but it is a helluva drive there and I need to take time off from work. Dorry Pets quoted me R448!!!!!

Bevan quoted R200 for exchange, but it is still a bit of a drive to get there.

Anybody know of someone else in Centurion - I can wait a day or two for refill?
              Cheers

We did fibre install for these people a few years ago - maybe see if they can help?

I'm starting to think along the lines of getting a 32kg on account and worry less about refilling, not many options in the far south of cape town or cape peninsula...

I know this is an OLD post but i thought I'd add to it none the less. I have just called these guys.
They still do the filling and it is currently R80 for a 2kg refill. It's R110 cheaper than baytech Fire in Midrand.

Confirmed, but it was R120 for a 2kg refill. Cylinder was filled while I wait, and it took about 5 minutes.
