  • Stuck fermentation

Twice I have had what seems to be a stuck fermentation. Airlock activity was low, every couple of minutes, yet gravity did not change over 4 to 5 days, on day 5/6 airlock activity started increasing and gravity dropped.
Yeast used was mangrove jacks and the same yeast was prevoiusly used in other batches with no issues. Temp was around 20C with no more than a 2C veration and conditions were stable.
I find this very strange ?. Usually with a stuck fermentation you would need to do something to start it again like adding yeast.
Everyone must beleive in something, I beleive I'll have another beer

So the yeast took a 5day holiday before getting to work?

I had a similar issue also with mangrove jacks yeast, nothing happened for 4 days and then fermentation started, went for a while and then got stuck. I assume there was an issue with the yeast.
