Made some progress again. Found this copper wire dangling from a
old telephone post. Happens to be exactly the right thickness, 2.5mm.
Just needs some cleaning and the main condenser almost complete.

citric acid and acetic (vinegar) will clean any copper quite well, George isn't a bad guy at all, I kinda like his still balancing PID idea, but also like bearded's artistic approach

Made somemore progress today,...cleaned and coiled
the copper wire that will suffice as a fin on the inner
    sleeve,..

    _DSC0210.jpg

A heat transfer fin. Then managed to coil it around
    the inner sleeve,..

The condenser sleeve complete and soldered

Been doing some research, geesh but some of these guys are
into mass production. George's PID seems very effective!
Good temperature control at all critical points. Geesh but some
of the bearded ones, a hillbilly notion in general, are out on a
mass production attitude!! The bearded attitude seems to have
    established roots here too,..,..

Went and got a quote for copper sheeting. For a moment
thought that they were offering me to buy shares
in the company,....,...R669.00 for a sheet .9mm thick
and 500x500mm square. ,... Good grief but no,
