Copper kettle

Hi,

I just finished Lars Garshol's book on Historic Brewing Techniques and it has got me thinking about brewing in older ways.

I have a 80 liter copper kettle that has not been used in a while. How do I make it safe to brew in?
I have boiled vinegar in it, and scrubbed it with a copper brush, but it still has a greenish patina, would it be safe to use as is?

Copper is a fairly safe metal. I wouldn't use that pot for brewing though. Copper pots are MADE for distilling...

I think Jakes (jakeslouw) brews with copper ... maybe he can shed some light
