You will need the following to start:

      A CO2 cylinder (R600)
      A regulator (R800)
Gas In Connector for Keg (R20)
      Gas tubing
      A Keg (R1000/R600)
Liquid Out Connector for Keg (R20)
      Liquid Tubing
A Tap (R50 for picnic, R700 for "proper")

      That is it.

Please note that prices are estimates. I can't remember the cost of tubing. It wasn't expensive though.

Contact TheBeerKeg or BrewMaster for products. You can also try TheTapRoom or DraughtCraft.

You are going to need some type of cooling as well -
        Flash Cooler - R4000 or
cold plate - R1200 (for douple cold plate) or
Stainless Coil should you decide to use a jockey box (can't remember the price)

We must maybe look at bulk buy on corney kegs ....

Quite a costly little exercise, hmmmmm.

Can we not get corny kegs locally? Are they not used here for anything?

+- R1600 a piece locally ... I think it will be worth it to import the used ones ...

I cool mine in my fridge/fermenter.

Brand new cornys are about R1000, used around R600.

Costly to start off, but a great investment.

Brewmaster.co.za. I got my 2 from him. I believe that Bevan from Draughtcraft sells for a similar price.

I am hoping to convert my fridge.

Think I am going to build a kegerator as well, so will revive my research. Thanks for the offer will probably take you up if that is the right place to buy from.

Vincent has a few second hand 9 liter corneys for R800. Pricey, but they are hens-teeth to come by and awesome as they are so easy to transport or fit in a cooler.
