Guys, just an FYI again - make sure your spent grains are hop-free when making dog biscuits. It's been said before, but I'll say it again - hops is toxic to dogs.

2 cups grains
1 cup flour
1 cup peanut butter
2 eggs
Throw everything into a mixing bowl and get it all mixed up, I find just grabbing it and letting it squeeze out between my fingers worked best to get it mixed.
After that I put it on a baking tray lined with wax paper and pressed it out into an even thickness.
Bake at 180 for 30 mins then use a knife to make rows in both directions while its still soft.
Then bake at 120 for about 1-2 hours until dried out.
Its very similar to making rusks so its not difficult at all.
I have been putting it in our flower beds for compost purposes.. but it seems I have attracted a lot of field mice. The Owls have not been doing their job lately, so hopefully I am just fattening them up to be consumed later?!

When adding it to flower or veggie beds, make sure it's mixed with soil (or buried). As a plain layer on top of the soil IT DOES NOT WORK. It attracts flies and in three days your wife asks you what that smell is and you have to stop ignoring it and then you have to dig up 2cm of rotten spent grains filled with maggots.

I ran out yesterday so went back to the normal dog biscuits, neither of my dogs are interested in those anymore so it looks like I need to get another brew going!
