Got the camlocks at hosefit for R250 a piece and Silicone Tubing at CT rubber at R115/m,
buying those camlocks hurt slightly, as they said they were a R100 over the phone.

Hosefit also don't have the Stainless Steel Ball Valve, I will head to NDE tomorrow.

I'm busy trying to get a bag sewn like yours found the website that details the steps.

Do you know the height, upper and lower diameter of the urn? Thanks for all the info so far.

Thank so much.. the voile is 2.8m wide. I bought 2m for 2 bags when I got home I realized that I mucked up should have bought 3m as I need 1.4m x 1.4m and not 1.4m x 70cm.

In the future if anyone needs to buy material please double the h.

Use the below calculator to calculate the dimensions of your bag.

Rickus, thanks for all the help and inspiration. I just finished wiring up the RTD probe for the control panel. I'm not even close as handy as you are but it works and I'm well chuffed. Basterfield is taking forever with my urn not sure why they are so slow but my Rickus clone is almost complete!!

Awesome! Did you come up with a plan on the nozzle front? I recall you were wanting to go check out a nozzle from some industrial place? I'm still scratching my head on how to do wort return better...

I got a spray ball, that i have modified but still need to test it. Will let you know how it pans out once I receive the Urn and I can finish up.

                      https://nde.co.za/categories/spray-b...60-perforation

I tested that yesterday when I was doing a dry run on the plumbing. It works great. They only had the 1" spray balls there but I ended up taking a 1/2" Socket and drilling a hole so I can easily take it apart for cleaning.

Once the Urn comes I'll figure out a way to make a hole through the lid but for now I Just hooked it on the side and it sprays out nice and gentle, I took it off to see what would happen and the return is a bit to strong without it.

I'll post pictures after my next dry run, just waiting for the pump to cure so I can run it again.

That looks promising! Are those balls threaded? is the 1/2" socket the diameter of the threaded piece? Is the spray patter like in the picture on their website? I.e. only the top part is perforated?

The balls are not threaded which is disappointing.

The 1/2" socket is just smaller than the diameter, but it works well. they have 3 versions, 180 up, 180 down and 360, but did not have stock of the 180 down when I went, only the 360. Luckily the 360 works great the pressure is not enough to force it out of all the holes. It just gives you a nice splatter on the top of the grain bed from the bottom of the ball.

I've attached a few images of what it looks like. It's just setup so I could hook it up to the side of the plastic bucket. Let me know if you have any questions.

^ Aaah, now it makes sense to me. Pity about the stock on 180 down

Picked up my 50L urn from Basterfield yesterday, so the fun and games will hopefully start soon. Can't wait, but now need everything else before starting. Will try find a grainbag and thermometer for a 1st brew and try improve from there. Exciting times, yay
