Corrective measures
Although i don’t contribute much on here, being new, inexperienced and not having any constructive contributions, I certainly do get a hell of a lot of info on here.
I need to fix some things in my process, for starters the tap on my urn is to be replaced by a stainless steel one (and better cleaned, as I think it might contribute to my issues), secondly my no chill practice in the urn also needs to go. Will get a hdpe2 container to do no chill. With the new tap it should also be easier to transfer to the cube.
My other problem is I have some hops that I bought, don’t know why, don’t ask.
So I am thinking to do a few blondes to sort out my processes, seems I skipped this in the beginning, so going back to square one.
I have the following hops in the freezer:
Brewers Gold
Citra
Southern promise
Can any of these be used in a blonde?
Was thinking 50:50 pale & vienna (also in stock)
Don’t see southern passion on the list to see what it will do?
Am I on the right track or should I rather source some other hop?
Hope my ramblings makes sense

Blondes aren't a complicated matter. IMO it's a pale ale with less hops, rather using pilsner malt than pale ale.
Grainbills and hopbills are simple - though they can be traditionally quite strong ABV wise.
Check out this link from Castle Malting in Belgium - lots of blonde recipes on there..

I think use 25IBU Brewers Gold for bittering and add Citra and Southern promise 5mins from end - or whirlpool/hopstand. Job done. 30IBU maxLast edited by AlexBrew; 10th January 2021 at 15:10.

Thanks for the advice. Changed the malt to pilsener, but want to try IBU alot lower for this one. Aiming for 20 max.
Done some more reading on cleaning, and want to clean my urn properly first. Will probably only start this next week sometime after I get some cleaning chemicals for the urn. Thinking of using caustic soda?

There's a couple of threads on this forum re Belgian Blondes. Somewhere a member posted this link:

Also have a look on this forum's recipe collection - there's a winner blonde recipe.

This one is great. Just give it time to mellow. Otherwise candi syrup's website has a bunch.
Belgian are all about the yeast, everything else is bs for them.. they traditionally chuck in the cheapest ingredients read brew like a monk it's very eye opening.
