  • Looks amazing!

At this stage, any homebrew looks amazing - my holiday stuffed up my brewing and I ran out of beer!!

But, stocked up for brewing tomorrow - expensive hobby this - R267 for ingredients for a 50 liter batch of Blonde Ale...

My response had a bit of sarcasm in there...R267 for 50 liters of beer is an absolute steal!!!

Could i just cut everything in half for a 25l batch?

                      More worried about the hops

no not really. I would suggest downloading the free version of brewfather. do a basic setup with your system and then copy the percentages to your own recipe. This will allow the recipe to be scaled to your effeciency. I would suggest setting your brewhouse efficiency to 60% for the first go around as everyone's efficiency sucks first time round

                        • My NEIPA I brewed 30/12, bottled 10/01, OG 1.065 FG 1.013 7.08abv w priming sugar.
Beer is only 5 days old and already yummy.
This is to date my most expensive beer I brewed. For this 35 L batch, cost added up to R830 isch in total. I managed to get 27.8 L into bottles - equates to almost R30/Litre - which compared to craft beer bar prices is still a bargain.
